Last updated 31 Jul 2026
Overview
The National Testing Agency has released the official Information Bulletin for the Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG) - 2026]. This standardized national-level entrance examination serves as a single-window opportunity for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes across all Central Universities, as well as participating State, Deemed, and Private Universities for the academic session 2026-27. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 / equivalent examination or are appearing in 2026 are eligible to apply, with no specific age limit prescribed by NTA, subject to individual university qualification policies. The exam covers 37 test papers, including 13 Indian languages, 23 domain-specific subjects aligned with the NCERT syllabus, and a General Aptitude Test. Applicants can select up to five subjects based on their intended program requirements. The examination will be administered as a Computer Based Test (CBT) featuring objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in 13 medium options across designated examination cities in India and abroad. Candidates are evaluated through a standardized marking scheme with negative marking for wrong answers. Final selection and merit list preparation will be handled independently by each participating university based on NTA normalized scores.
