BPSSC Sub-Inspector Prohibition 2026
Last updated 31 Jul 2026
Overview
The Bihar Police Sub-Ordinate Services Commission has published an official recruitment notification for the position of Sub-Inspector Prohibition within the Prohibition, Excise, and Registration Department, Government of Bihar. The selection drive aims to recruit eligible male, female, and third-gender Indian citizens for direct recruitment into the state service cadre. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university and satisfy prescribed age criteria, physical measurement parameters, and medical fitness standards. The recruitment process consists of three main stages: a written examination, a physical efficiency test, and document verification. The written competitive examination is conducted in two phases—preliminary and main examinations—comprising objective-type multiple-choice questions on general knowledge, current affairs, general studies, science, history, geography, mathematics, and mental ability, alongside a qualifying paper in general Hindi. Candidates who qualify the written examinations are shortlisted for the physical efficiency test, which evaluates performance in running, high jump, long jump, and shot put events. Final selection recommendations and merit lists are formulated based on the total marks obtained in the main written examination.
